Grading, Soil Work, Seeding & Sodding FAQs

How long does lawn grading and installation take?

Most projects take 1–2 days depending on lawn size and the amount of soil work required.

Should I choose sod or seed?

Sod provides instant results and erosion control and is locally grown with delivery options. Seed is more economical and performs extremely well with proper watering and soil prep. We help you decide based on space, timeline, season, and budget.

Do you fix drainage issues?

Yes β€” we correct low areas, shape slopes, and adjust grading to improve water flow and reduce standing water.

What type of seed or sod do you use?

We use high-quality fescue blends selected specifically for Kentucky lawns and site conditions.

How soon can I mow after installation?

Sod: Usually after 2–3 weeks once roots have established. Seed: Typically 3–5 weeks depending on season and growth rate.

When is the best time to seed or sod?

Seeding is best from September through mid-October, or March–April if necessary. (We do not recommend Spring full-kill seeding.) Sod can be installed March through December.

Do you provide watering instructions?

Yes β€” we provide detailed watering information to ensure successful establishment.
