Landscape Design & Installation FAQs

How long does a landscape installation take?

Project timelines can vary. Smaller β€œday-job” installs can be completed in a single day, while most standard projects take about 3–6 days. Larger or more complex designs can span several weeks or even months. We’ll give you a clear timeline during the estimate process.

What time of year is best for landscaping?

We typically install landscapes from March through December. As long as soil conditions are healthy and workable, we can perform most services.
Fun fact: Winter is actually one of the best times for planting trees and larger shrubs! β€”they can establish roots with less stress.

How much does a landscape installation cost?

Pricing varies widely depending on scope, material, and design. Projects can range from just a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands. Many of our most transformative installs fall in the $10,000–$30,000 range, with many under $20,000. We’ll help you find options that work for your vision and budget. If you have a budget in mind, we are happy to work with the number in mind and tailor a project based on that number.

Do you offer maintenance after the installation?

Absolutely. We love caring for the landscapes we install. We can provide detailed care instructions if you prefer to maintain it yourself, or our maintenance crews can handle everything for you.

When should I reach out about a project? What does your schedule look like?

Reach out as early as possible.
Our busiest seasons are:

-Spring: Cleanup and mulching through Derby and into June
-Summer: Peak landscape installation season
-Fall: GREAT for new landscapes and also lawn renovations in September and October. In November and December our maintenance and lawn crews do leaf removal
-Winter: Great for planning and getting estimates underway

If you’re thinking about a project, contacting us earlier gives you more flexibility on scheduling.

Why do landscape quotes vary so much between companies?

It’s extremely common to see wide price differences. Landscaping is a mostly unregulated industry, meaning companies can range from part-time solo operators with very low overhead to large national companies with big crews and higher operating costs.
Equipment quality, labor experience, insurance, materials access, and workmanship all play a role.
Our goal is to offer fair, realistic pricing for high-quality, professional workβ€”not the cheapest quote, and never the most inflated one.
